Total Course Fee: £300 (online study £80 + practical training days £220)

*** The online study is available as a standalone course at £80 (no practical training). Ideal for those who wish to study for information only and to refresh their knowledge. Please note the online study alone is not certificated. The accredited certificate is only awarded to those who successfully complete both the online study and practical training.

Duration: Self paced online study (approx 20 hours) + 2 day practical training days (10am - 5pm)

Description: Our comprehensive Introduction to Makeup Artistry Course is for complete beginners wishing to embark on an exciting career as a professional makeup artist. This blended learning programme combines fundamental underpinning theory with high quality practical based training to develop the core skills, knowledge, and confidence required to enter the world of work within the makeup industry. 

This course is the perfect introduction for those just starting out or considering a career in the makeup industry. It is open to complete beginners or previously trained MUA's wishing to refresh their knowledge & skills. No previous experience required.

FAQ

  • What do the classes involve?

    Part 1 - Online learning. Upon receipt of the initial fee you will be enrolled onto the online learning modules where you will learn the core principles and underpinning theory of skincare, hygiene, customer care, product knowledge, and much more. The online learning is self paced home study, lessons are delivered via text, audio, presentations, and video tutorials so you can refer back at any time. The online learning must be completed prior to the practical training day(s). Part 2 – Practical Training. You will be required to attend 2 days of practical training at North Wales Nail & Beauty Training (10:00am – 5.00pm).

  • Is this course accredited?

    Yes, all of our courses are fully accredited by ABT. This means you will be able to gain insurance and work in the industry.

  • What’s expected of me?

    Commitment ….. You will receive the best training and support, all you need to do is commit. As this is a blended learning course, the underpinning knowledge is delivered via our online learning platform. It is advisable that students have a pc or laptop for this. The online learning part of this course should take approximately 20 hours.

  • Do I need to bring a model?

    Students are required to work on each other on day 1 of the practical training; this is the best way to learn as you will have the opportunity to experience the service for yourself and can learn a lot from each other. You will be required to bring a model for the afternoon of day 2. If this is something that you may need help with, please speak with your instructor and we may be able to arrange a model for you.

  • How will I be assessed?

    The online learning is assessed via a series of short end of unit tests. You will be assessed during your practical training by means of observation. There is no exam or final assessment for this course.

  • Do I need to buy a kit?

    No, all products and equipment needed for the course will be provided. Makeup and brush kits are available at an extra cost, if this is something that interest you please email hello@rhiannonpritchard.co.uk for more info.

  • How do I book?

    To secure your place on this course, click the 'Book Now' button at the bottom of this section. This will take you to a sign up page where you can create your account. Once your account has been created you will be taken to our secure payment page. The initial fee of £80 will enrol you onto the course and give you access to the online learning modules. After completion of the online learning, a further payment of £220 is required to attend the practical training day(s) (details on how to make the practical training day payment will be sent to you via email). Certificates will only be issued upon successful completion of both the online learning and practical training day.

  • Can I study this course 1:1?

    Yes, this course is available on a 1:1 basis at a cost of £400 (£80 to access the online learning, followed by £320 prior to the practical training day). Students will need to bring their own model for both days.

Hi, my name is Rhiannon. I'm an award winning makeup artist and have been working in the beauty industry for 20+ both in the UK and overseas. I’m passionate about teaching and aim to provide a stimulating, supportive learning experience to help equip my students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to achieve their career goals. I’m a fully qualified teacher and assessor and have over 10 years’ experience as an educator. Alongside teaching I have a very busy schedule working in the industry as a freelance makeup artist.
